{jcomments on}The Government Procurement Services Agency (GPSA) has released more tenders for procurement of common-use items and services under framework agreements for Financial Year 2019/20, TPJ has learnt.

The Chief Executive Officer of GPSA, Dr. Geraldine A. Rasheli said the agency decided to re-release 26 tenders this turn around so as to provide more opportunities to tenderers who may have missed out when the first lot was advertised in February this year. 

she said of the 26 tenders, 12 were for goods including stationery and office supplies, office equipment and consumables, furniture and fittings, cleaning materials and supplies, motor vehicle accessories, food and beverages, uniforms, beddings, sport gears and textile materials, laboratory supplies, kitchen appliances, building materials, machinery and hardware, fire wood, fuel and lubricants. 

Dr. Rasheli added that 14 tenders were for services which include catering services, cleaning services, fumigation services, transport and handling services, service and maintenance of office equipment, service and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment, grinding and milling services, service and maintenance of elevators, service and maintenance of fire security systems, hiring photocopying services using vendor management inventory system, internet services, documentary services, insurance services and security services.

 “This opportunity would not include tenderers who were awarded framework agreements for Year 2019/20 ending on 30th June, 2019,” Dr. Rashel said.

The agency is responsible for procurement, storage and distribution of stock items for re-sale to Government and non-government institutions, provision of clearing and forwarding  and consultancy services, and warehousing facilities, arranging for  procurement of common-use items and services by ministries, independent department and agencies (MDAs) and local government authorities (LGAs) using framework contracts.

Framework agreement system was intended to reduce procurement costs while enabling entities to access relevant information.

Tenders opening will start on 5th September, 2019 and the notice is available on www.gpsa.go.tz
